About Us

Dear Parents and Students,

I began tutoring students over 25 years ago. Before founding Tri-State Tutoring, Inc., I worked as an employee of an elite tutoring service on Long Island where fees reached rates as high as $1000 per hour. I watched students become excited about their studies as they achieved their goals and saw the pride on their parents' faces. I believed so strongly in the great change that quality tutoring could make in the educational careers and futures of students that I decided to form my own tutoring business charging more accessible rates. Thus, Tri-State Tutoring, Inc. was born.

Since forming Tri-State Tutoring, Inc., I've had the opportunity to seek out quality tutors that I am proud to work with. All of our tutors are teachers certified by the New York State Education Department. We've been especially successful with tutoring SAT-I^®, SAT-II^®, and Regents exams. Tri-State tutors provide test preparation, tutorial, and homework services for all subjects—especially the new SAT^®s. In addition, we provide assistance for college application essays.

I take pride in hiring tutors whose expertise matches or exceeds my own. To give you an idea of what my standards are, let me give you a short list of some of my own achievements:

• Three recent perfect scores of 800 on the Mathematics SAT^®
• A perfect 36 on the ACT^® Mathematics section.
• A perfect 100 on all New York State Mathematics Regents.
• Taught the Mathematics Regents and SAT^® prep courses for a community college as a College Now instructor.
• Provided high school academic intervention services.
• Teachers College, Columbia University graduate with a 4.0 grade point average for my first three masters degrees.
• Veteran of the United States Navy and a graduate of the Navy Nuclear Power School.
