Terms and Conditions

Because our services are in high demand, we feel it necessary to set some rules concerning session attendance, payment, and cancellations. Your cooperation with the following rules is required (entrance into a contract with Tri-State Tutoring, Inc. indicates your agreement with these rules):

  1. Payment for all scheduled hours must be received in advance for the total number of hours scheduled.
  2. There is a 2-hour per student per week minimum.
  3. Your contract expires on the sooner of 180 contract days or 120 days after last use.
  4. Refunds of paid tuition are never granted and stopping checks is prohibited. Credits due to cancellation of scheduled sessions will be given in the form of make-up sessions provided the cancellation meets the terms and conditions of the contract.
  5. Credit card payments are not accepted.
  6. Payment is due for all sessions whether or not your student attends, regardless of the reason. If a session is cancelled by Tri-State Tutoring, Inc., your student must attend the make-up session that is scheduled. Inability to attend the make-up session is not grounds for refund or credit.
  7. If a session is cancelled for reasons other than "acts of God" or circumstances beyond our control, you will receive credit for the session that must be used within three months of the cancelled session.
  8. Private sessions may be cancelled by the parent with a 96-hour advance notice. A make-up session will be scheduled, if the required notice is given.
  9. Any disputes concerning payment, credit, or session scheduling will be handled by the Director. The Director's decision is final.
  10. We appreciate your feedback concerning the quality of services provided by our teachers; however, the Director's decision concerning teacher performance is always final.
  11. Because Tri-State Tutoring, Inc. is a corporation, you must agree that legal disputes will not name any Officers or Employees as defendants.
  12. We reserve the right to expel students due to improper or disrespectful conduct on the part of the student or parent. The Director's decision in such matters is final.
  13. By law, you have the right to cancel the contract within three business days. To do so, you must send a notice by certified mail to: Tri-State Tutoring, Inc., Attn: Jim Judson, 9 Heather Lane, Levittown, NY 11756
  14. We will try to notify you of the expiration of your contract. However, it is your responsibility to monitor your contract and you will be responsible for tuitions due for sessions attended beyond the expiration of the contract.
  15. We do not guarantee any specific point increase on any exams that we tutor for.
  16. If any portion of this contract is found invalid or unenforceable, all other parts remain in force.
